The 2018 Spring Career & Internship Fair is a one-day event that will host over 100 companies/organizations in the Events Center. Companies attending this event will have full-time, part-time, and internship positions available. The career fair will be sectioned into two areas: "STEM" (positions for Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics majors) and "All Majors" (positions for technical and non-technical majors). UCSB registered students of all majors and class levels (including graduate students) are invited to attend.

What is "Early Admission" and how do I get in?
"Early Admission" is the hour before general admission, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Employers look forward to this special hour of time to interact with students who have demonstrated a high level of preparedness for the career fair. The Early Admission hour is for pre-approved UCSB registered students (does not include Alumni past their one year grace period, Extension students or post-doctoral fellows) ONLY. You will receive an early admission pass for career fair entry at 10:00 AM if you meet all of the following criteria:
- You receive a pass from attending resume+, drop-in hours in the CRR, OR an "Early Admission" workshop (find one HERE! EA workshops indicated by rising sun icon).
- You are professionally dressed.
- You have researched employers in advance, demonstrating your readiness for a job.
Can I get an Early Admission Pass on the day of the career fair?
No. The Early Admission time starts before drop-in does, so you will need to secure your early pass before the day of the fair.
What should I bring to the career fair?
- Your student I.D. or perm number
- Copies of your resume
- Any supplemental materials you deem necessary in landing that job!

What should I wear to the career fair?
You may consider wearing "business professional" or "business casual attire" depending on the industry you are interested in pursuing.
What is "business professional" attire?
Business professional attire is a more traditional, conservative (black, navy or grey clothing) approach. May vary by employer or industry.
For men- A business suit or blazer, tie and dress slacks. Clothes should be cleaned and pressed. Wing tips or loafers with dark socks.
For women- A business suit, pantsuit or jacket and blouse with neckline no lower than collarbones. Skirt's hem should not be more than two inches above the knee. Clothes should be cleaned and pressed. Low/medium heels or flats. Pick comfortable shoes as you will be standing in line and walking around for a extended amount of time.
What is "business casual" attire?
Business casual attire is more relaxed, but displays a neat appearance.
For men - A polo shirt or shirt with a collar or sweater, khakis or dress slacks, and dress or casual leather shoes.
For women - A shirt with a collar or sweater; khakis, dress slacks, or moderate length dress or skirt. Low/medium heels or flats.
How can I prepare for the career fair?
- Check out the List of Participating Organizations
- Make a list of the organizations you're interested in and research them. Visit their websites, prepare questions to ask, take note of what positions they are looking to fill. Your preparation is a sure way to stand out from the crowd!
- Visit the Career Resource Room to speak with a career counselor during drop-in hours (M-F from 11am-4pm) or make an individual appointment with a career counselor.

What if I am an alumnus of a non-UC university/college?
Non UC Alumni are not permitted to attend.
What if I am an international student?
Registered UCSB international students are welcome to attend. Please have your perm number ready at student registration on the day of the career fair. And don't forget to review the List of Participating Organizations (Coming Soon!) to see which companies hire international students!
What if I am an Extension student?
UCSB Extension students are welcome to attend this event from 11am-2pm. Please visit our Alumni Career Services page to request an admission pass. Please note that you will need to bring your Driver's License/Identification Card, along with your student ID or proof of UC education to be admitted.
What if I am a post-doctoral fellow?
Post-doctoral fellows are permitted to attend the career fair during general admission hours from 11am-2pm. Please bring your UCSB ID.
What if I am a staff member or community member?
The Spring Career Fair is not available to staff or community members who are not UC Alumni (see Alumni text above).
