What is a typical day
for you at Career Services?
From my morning bicycle commute to the close of an evening job-hunting workshop,
I enjoy most every minute of my job at UCSB. For anyone interested in a job
that involves people, data, and things – career counseling in a university
setting might be the best career in the world.
What other careers have
you had?
I think of my role as a dad as an entire career. Presently, I teach a lot of
classes for Santa Barbara City College. I was in sales back in the 1980s.
What makes your current
career at UCSB special for you?
One of my favorite things about being here at Career Services is the variety.
I do about 100 workshops and classes each year, meet with hundreds of students,
participate on committees, job-fair teams, and advise a few student groups.
When you are not on campus,
what do you like doing?
I like being with my family, surfing, and eating. I am on the board of the
Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition. I teach classes in local retirement communities
and other locations.
What are your specialty
areas/majors?
I like working with all students but I most often work with technical students
and graduate students. I appreciate working with the UCSB community. |
