Beginning Steps:

  1. Read our Top 10 Steps to Finding a Job
  2. Update your Handshake profile
  3. Learn how to job search safely and learn about the most common fraudulent job post, the check scam
  4. Explore types of jobs and preferred locations you want to live when you graduate. Check out our Job Links and Handshake for ideas on entry level job requirements
  5. Attend Career Fairs, Workshops & Employer Information Sessions (Log into Handshake and click on Info Sessions/Events)
  6. Prepare a résumé/cover letter using our online tips for résumés and cover letters
  7. Get your résumé/cover letter critiqued during drop-in hours in the Career Resource Room from 11:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday
  8. Sign up for On-Campus Interviews. Primarily for accounting, computer science, engineering seniors! However, there are also jobs for all majors in retail and financial services as a management trainee or entry level sales professional.
