Getting Started with Your Job Search

Beginning Steps:

  • Read FAQs to get an overview.
  • Update Your GauchoLink Profile.
  • Explore types of jobs and preferred locations you want to live when you graduate. Check out our Job Links for job descriptions for ideas on entry level job requirements.
  • Attend Career Fairs, Workshops, & Employer Information Sessions (Log into Gaucholink and click on Info Sessions/Events.
  • Prepare a resume/cover letter using Resume Builder.
  • Get your resume/cover letter critiqued during drop-in hours in the Career Resource Room from 10:00pm to 4:00pm, Monday through Fridays.
  • Sign up for the Campus Interview Program. Primarily for accounting, computer science, engineering seniors! However, there are also jobs for all majors in retail and financial services as a management trainee or entry level sales professional. Go to GauchoLink to see who’s coming to campus in your area of interest.
  • Apply for local internships. Check out GauchoLink for possibilities
