Alpha Chi Omega

Description of Organization: Alpha Chi Omega is a national women's fraternity founded in DePaw University, Indiana in 1885 with 193 chapters represented on university campuses across the United States and over 200,000 members.

The women of Alpha Chi pride themselves in upholding the five pillars of membership which includes, academic interest, character, fiscal responsibility, leadership ability and personal development. We emphasize the importance of intellectual development and are proud to be the first collegiate fraternity to require new members to meet our high standard of scholarship performance before initiation. Our members are held to the highest standards and are highly active in organizations across campus. Here at Alpha Chi, our history is rooted in generosity, compassion and commitment to our members and the greater good. We work to give back to our community by raising awareness and educating others about domestic violence, an issue that effects both men and women all over the world. Whether wearing the lyre badge with pride during a ritual ceremony, volunteering at a women's shelter or networking with members across the country, AXO is a chance to be your authentic self while surrounded by members who are just as unique.
