Document Review

Online Service for Resumes, CVs, and Cover Letters -- New for Spring 2020!

Upload your resume, CV, or cover letter to our Document Review team by signing into your UCSB email account. If applicable, tell us the position to which you are applying.

Within two (2) school days, get quick feedback to your UCSB email account for 30+ checkpoints across three Professional Document Competencies.

Virtual Appointments

Meet virtually with a Career Counselor who specializes in assisting you with your individual career goals and needs. Appointments are offered via virtual or phone meetings, Monday–Friday from 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. during the academic year, plus evening and weekend hours for Spring 2020!
 

HOW TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT:

  1. Submit Request: Login to Handshake and click the Career Center tab. Requests are accepted in advance of one (1) school day for general appointments, two (2) school days for Mock Interviews, and three (3) school days for Application Essays. Appointments for feedback on Resumes/CVs and Cover Letters require an approved Document Review prior to your request.
  2. Get Confirmed: All appointments are approved in the order in which they are requested, typically within one (1) school day of receipt. Check your UCSB account for your confirmation email with pre-appointment instructions.
  3. Mark Calendar: Set a reminder to attend your appointment on time. Let us know if plans change -- see our policies for details or email careerhelp@sa.ucsb.edu

Virtual Drop-in

Do you need a quick career chat? Tune into virtual drop-in hours for individual assistance on demand, with the support of a Career Counselor.

Evening and weekend hours are now added for Spring 2020!

 

HOW TO ACCESS DROP-IN:

  1. Join Line: Enter our virtual line, powered via QLess technology, during the following Career Services drop-in hours:
    • Monday and Friday: 1–4 p.m.
    • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 4–8 p.m.
    • Sunday: 3–5 p.m.
  2. Get Alerted: After joining the virtual line, you will be placed in a queue and provided an estimated wait time via text message.
  3. Begin Session: Once you reach the front of the line, a Career Counselor will call your phone number to begin your 10-minute session.
